Beginner's Experience with RedGage.com

I recently joined a revenue sharing bookmark site called RedGage.com and have spent the last few days uploading pictures and creating backlinks for some of my online content. I've never been one to have much luck with the whole social networking thing that has developed lately, but it hasn't been that bad of an experience so far with RedGage. I've already met quite a few people who have posted some very interesting things.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a site that will make you rich by any means, but when it comes to building links back to your articles and blog posts it does the trick with an added bonus. I'll admit, there was a bit of a learning curve after I signed up but once I got through the initial information dump and awkwardness it's fairly straight forward. I will recommend that you sign up with an alternate email account, though, as there doesn't seem to be a function for lumping alerts together. As such, you are going to end up getting spammed if you have a large number of comments. I believe that would be the case if you end up getting featured - which has the pleasant effect of driving a lot more traffic to your content and thus a greater likelyhood of comments.

Uploading links and photos takes about as much time as adding a favorite to StumbleUpon and the like. So, if you incorporate RedGage into your post promotion routine you aren't looking at a huge time dump. I would just recommend taking the time to rate other people's uploads for a few days/weeks as you have time and building a sizable friend list. If one of your uploads or links is selected for top content, you'll find that the friend requests will come to you. ;)

Anyway, as a bonus to new members you get a revenue increase for all your content views if you bring a friend over within the first few days of signing up. I figured I'd try it out a bit before I offered up a referral link, just to be sure it wasn't a junk site. After using it for several hours, I can honestly give it a thumbs up. So, if you're interested: Sign up here. My user name is BradyFrost (without a space).
